Note: 

Not all animals can be kept as personal pets in Singapore, especially exotic animals such as ferrets, snakes, iguanas, tortoises, frogs, monkeys to name a few.  Hence imports of these pets are not allowed. 

 

Below is a list of animals other than cat/dog, small mammals and birds approved to be kept in Singapore:

 

Red-eared slider (a terrapin) 

Fish

Hermit crab (Coenobita rugosus)

Green tree frog (Litoria caerulea)

Malayan box turtle (Cuora amboinensis)

 

Requirements:

 

Veterinary health certificate

Import requirements of these pets vary and are often subject to change.

As a general pre-requisite for import, your pet must be examined by a qualfied/registered veterinarian and certified healthy and free from any infectious or contagious diseases and fit for travel.

 

Application for permit/s

An import permit from the Singapore Veterinary Authority is required for every shipment.

For pet classified under CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna), additional application for CITES permit must also be submitted.
