1. How long is the quarantine period?

  • The normal quarantine period for dog/cat is 30 days from the date when Rabies vaccination is given post-arrival.  However this may be extended in some cases as deemed necessary by the veterinary authority.  Imported small mammals are required to undergo 14 days home-quarantine upon completion of post-arrival inspection.

 

2. How much is the quarantine fees and what is inclusive?

  • The fee per pet for air-conditioned kernel/cattery is SGD926.50 and SGD643.00 for basic fan kennel/cattery.  This covers accommodation for 30 days, daily feeding of dry dog/cat food, van transfer to SAQS, veterinary examination and mandatory post-arrival Rabies vaccination.

 

3. Can I visit my pet during the quarantine period?

  • Yes, visiting is allowed during the designated visiting hours - Mon to Fri from 4:00 pm till 6:00 pm and Sat from 2:00 pm till 6:00 pm.  The quarantine station is closed on Sundays and public holidays.

 

4. My cat/dog is very old and has old-age related problems such as mild heart condition and partial blindness in both eyes. Can it be exempted from quarantine?

  • All quarantine periods set by the Singapore veterinary authority (AVA) is mandatory and cannot be exempted.  However, alternative option such can sometimes be arranged depending on the severity of your pet’s conditions.  Please feel free to provide us with more medical background of your pet in order for us to help.
